Chassis & Drivetrain
The HW210 rides on a rigid undercarriage with two ZF axles. The front axle is a steering drive axle; the rear is a rigid drive axle. Both are common in European mobile equipment. Two-mode steering comes standard – normal for road travel, crab for sliding next to walls or curbs. The transmission is integrated with the rear axle, reducing driveline parts. Brakes are oil-cooled discs on all wheels, so they don't fade on long downhill runs or after repeated stops.
Hydraulic System
Main pump is a Kawasaki variable displacement piston pump, delivering up to 2×221 L/min at 380 bar. The system uses load-sensing logic – the pump only delivers the flow the valves request, no wasted energy or excess heat. A separate pilot pump supplies control pressure. The main control valve has built-in pressure compensators, so multiple functions (boom up + swing + bucket curl) run smoothly without one starving the others. One-touch power boost is a simple button on the right joystick; it temporarily raises the pressure cutout by 10–15 bar for breaking through hard layers.
Cooling & Durability
Cooling pack has two separate cores: one for engine coolant, one for hydraulic oil. A thermostatic fan clutch engages only when needed, saving fuel and reducing noise. The boom and arm are built from high-tensile steel with cast steel joints at high-stress points. All pivot pins are sealed with grease-filled channels and double lip seals – you grease them every 250 hours instead of every day. Hydraulic hoses run inside the boom and arm structure, protected from branches, rocks, and accidental snags.
Safety & Serviceability
The four stabilizers are controlled by an electronic leveling system. Press one button, the machine lifts and levels itself on uneven ground. The outriggers have mechanical locks to prevent creep. For electrical safety, all control circuits are 12V with sealed connectors. Daily check points – engine oil dipstick, hydraulic tank sight glass, coolant reservoir, and fuel filter – are all reachable from ground level without opening the engine cover completely. Grease fittings are grouped on two blocks under the boom foot, so a single grease gun reach covers most of the upper structure.
