Relevant Regulations
According to Article 16 of the "Regulations for the Implementation of the Road Traffic Safety Law," freight vehicles and large and medium-sized non-commercial passenger vehicles are inspected annually within the first 10 years; those over 10 years old are inspected every 6 months. Semi-trailer trailers fall under the category of freight vehicles. However, in practice, for freight vehicles over 10 years old, the requirement has been adjusted to annual inspection since November 20, 2020.
Annual Inspection Process
1. Required Documents: Typically, you will need to bring the vehicle registration certificate, a copy of a valid compulsory traffic accident liability insurance policy, and the vehicle owner's identification.
2. Exterior Inspection: The vehicle's exterior must meet standards and have no obvious modifications or damage that would affect safe driving.
3. Safety Performance Testing: This includes testing the braking system, lighting system, and exhaust emissions. Only after passing the tests can the vehicle pass the annual inspection.
